We are offering you a vacation spot like no other on the West Coast of Florida. The Island is Anna Maria and the residence is The Bayou. It's a quiet place (25 mph strictly enforced!) with a quiet pace. The Bayou is a condominium residence located at the north eastern tip of Anna Marie Island, just behind Roser Church about 200 yards from the historic Anna Maria pier. There is a peaceful waterway passing through the back of the residence leading out to the bay. You'll love the fact that it is also a bird sanctuary, allowing you to enjoy the egrets, pelicans and blue herons up close and personal. The Island is small so its an easy walk to either the gulf or the bay and the beaches reflect the different character of each. On the bay side there are 2 fishing piers that also offer dining and drinks. On the gulf side there are restaurants with spectacular sunset views. Our favorite is the Sandbar, where customers come from land, sea and air to enjoy the sunset. Several small bistros and cafes also dot the island. The condo comes with a boat dock on the waterway. This is a modest 2 bedroom condo (sleeps four), on the ground level at The Bayou. Recent improvements include wall to wall carpeting throughout, fresh paint in all rooms, and new airtight windows and sliding glass doors. New tile floors in the bathroom, kitchen, and entrance hall were added in the spring of 2003. Furnished in Florida style with comfortable seating, you are sure to enjoy your visit to this island paradise. Each unit has assigned parking with extra spots for guests. The condo we are offering is located in the building shown, downstairs with windows facing the water.

New for 2003 is the Free trolley service. Its a cute bus with both open air and air conditioned sections and its free. You can even load your bike on the front. It will take you from the city of Anna Maria through Holmes Beach and Manatee Beach to Coquina Beach and finally Bradenton Beach and did I mention, its Free! You won't need the trolley for Neuman's Store, it's only a block away. See Glenn or Pennie to rent bikes, kayaks, beach umbrellas, tubes, rafts, or even try your hand at some parasailing!

Visitors staying in an anna maria island beach rental home should check out Rotten Ralph’s a quaint waterfront restaurant with open air deck, fabulous sunset views and live music.  If you don’t fancy taking the car to explore the island, try the Island Trolley service that runs the length of the island and stops at all the main beaches.  The island is very proud of its’ turtle population and fiercely guards the welfare of these protected animals.  During the summer months the Anna Marie Turtle Watch team offer guided morning turtle walks and talks to help visitors understand the importance of protecting these little creatures
